Installing

  1. Save the above code as NP_FootNote.php file and upload it to your Nucleus plugins directory.
  2. Go to your Nucleus admin area and install this plugin in the Plugins section. It will appear there as NP_FootNote.

How to use the plugin

  1. Anytime you wish to insert a footnote, simply insert the footnote itself in double brackets right after the words associated with the footnote. For example, the following will assign the words “Check this out” with the footnote “checking this out”:

Check this out1)

Anything inside the brackets is automatically converted into links. The footnotes appear at the end of an article, with or without any extended entry text.

Options

  • add title with link? : This option will add the title attribute to links.
  • divide footnote by bodytext and more text? : Divide footnotes between bodytext and more text

Wishlist

1 - Include the blogid in the footnote link. Otherwise, when using more than one blog, it could be overruled by a (different) base reference in the skin of a blog [suggested by verbaljam on the forums].

2 - It would be nice if there would be an option in the plugins admin where users could set the preceding word before a footnote themselves, instead of editing the code directly [suggested by verbaljam on the forums].

3 - It would be nice if there's a colon inserted automatically after 'Note #' followed by a space. At this time, this can be done by editing the code directly [suggested by verbaljam on the forums].
