Profile

www.gregorlove.com_images_gregor_redhairleft.jpg My name is gRegor Morrill and I am a 28 year old computer geek. I’m into programming, web applications, web design, and databases. Outside the computer realm I have a lot of varied interests such as Jesus, photography, politics, music, concerts, and being weird (does being weird count as an interest? It does now.)

I’ve been using Nucleus for a long time now, since version 1 point something. It has been fun to see Nucleus progress over the years and take part in that, even if only in a small way through plugins. But it looks like some of my code suggestions might get implemented in the next version after 3.2 - sweet. :-]

My Plugins

Current Plugins

Current Media 0.5 - This plugin lets you add a currently listening/watching/reading/playing block on each post by using the Amazon catalog. Amazon Associates can enter their associate id and potentially earn referral fees. I’m probably most proud of this plugin. :-]

Comment Redirect 0.2 - This plugin extends the capability of Nucleus to redirect after a comment is posted. Now the user will be redirected directly to their comment.

Smarter User Link 0.1 - This plugin can be used in place of the <%userlink%> template variable to display obfuscated email addresses of commentors to avoid spammers gathering email addresses from your comments. There is an option not to display email addresses at all, either.

In the Works

I’m currently working on NP_EventBlog, a plugin which allows you to use a Nucleus blog as a list of upcoming events. In conjunction, I’ve re-working NP_Calendar to have an API so that this plugin can allow users to browse events in a calendar view, as well. Both are currently in beta and available on the forum here. This plugin is based upon the EventItem plugin written by screen ages ago. I’m just bringing it a bit more up to date and making it more flexible, hopefully.

I’m also working on NP_SortBy, a plugin which allows you to display items in a blog sorted by author, title, or a custom order. The custom ordering uses AJAX to display the changes on the fly in the admin area. Beta should be coming in January 2006.
