NP_GZip

When this plugin is installed, the contents of your site will be gzipped (compressed) before it's sent to the requesting browser. This way, bandwidth is saved (can be a 50% save or more)

1. Copy and paste the plugin code and save as NP_Gzip.php (or download the zip file above and extract it)
2. Upload to your /plugins/ directory
3. Go to the 'manage plugins' section in your Nucleus admin area and install the plugin
4. That's it!

The NP_Gzip plugin becomes active from the moment it's installed.

This plugin has no options.

  • RSS feeds were broken when this plugin was installed. This was fixed by no longer compressing those (WouterDemuynck)

  • or use the Web Developer extension for Mozilla/Firefox: choose Information > View Response Headers
• RSS feeds will also be gzipped (in fact, all Nucleus generated skin content will be encoded)
• Won't work in Nucleus v2.5 beta when you're using an SQL table prefix. (Error log says ”Plugin NP_GZip was not loaded (does not support SqlTablePrefix)”)

NP_GZip version 2.1 works with Nucleus CMS version 3.31 - 2007-11-11 kg
