Tips and Tricks

Shifting Servers

  1. Backup the image files in the /media/ directory.
  2. Remember to also backup the .thumbs directory
  3. After transfering the images and the directories to the new server, remember to CHMOD the directories and sub-directories 777, This ensures that you are able to upload the images via the uploader.

Lost Thumbnails

Until the time of writing, the plugin do not have auto-restore thumbnailing or re-thumbnailing feature.

If you have forgotten to backup the thumbnail directory, there are still ways to restore the thumbnails. This method is slower but it works.

  1. Locate the local copy of your media directory / Backup the images from your server.
  2. Delete the images from your server.
  3. Access the Image Manager from the WYSIWYG editor.
  4. Upload the images from your computer to the server using the manager upload form
  5. Thumbnails will be created.
