Skins Site Improvements

The purpose of this wiki page is to document the progress of suggested improvements to the Nucleus CMS Skins Site.

Skin gallery/browser

1. already existing on current skins site: screenshot, description and author information
2. suggested to add
   1. other skins by same author/porter
   2. multiple authors
   3. if any translations are available

Skin author upload function

1. currently authors must submit through the skins site: Submit your skins here
2. Skin authors should have accounts on the skins site so they can login and make updates to their own skins site
3. possibly some combination/modification of NP_SubmitSystem.php and NP_Profile.php (to allow listing of all skins by author, but this won't currently work with multiple authors)?
4. need to restrict editing abilities to own submissions.

Comments and Ratings

1. currently no official discussion/rating for skins as each skin is not applied to an individual item/blog → NP_SkinAdmin generates page content automatically
2. need to develop some method of rating or attaching a discussion
3. should we reuse the 1 skin, 1 item method?

Skin-related or design contest

1. need to maintain separate sites for each contest held, so sponsors and submissions are still intact
2. currently skins site does not allow a skin to be tagged as both a contest skin AND a normal skin, nor does it distinguish between different contests
3. need to maintain ability to handle static designs like those submitted in the 2005-2006 skins contest: http://skins.nucleuscms.org/contest/statics/
